Adoration Chapel

Come and adore

We’re happy to announce Melbourne CBDs first-ever perpetual adoration chapel here at St Michael's in North Melbourne! The Guardian Angels Adoration Chapel will serve everyone in the Archdiocese. Our adoration chapel is brand new and Jesus will be present in the Tabernacle but not exposed in the monstrance as over time we work with your help, to fill all the adoration slots.

Make a regular commitment

"The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the best time that you will spend on earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus will deepen your union with Him and make your soul everlastingly more glorious and beautiful in heaven, and will help bring about an everlasting peace on earth."

It has long been the custom within the Church to spend time adoring the Lord, who is truly present in the Eucharist reserved in the Tabernacle. Exposition is when the Eucharist, the consecrated host (bread) that is the Body of Christ, is exposed so that we can see and adore (worship) Him.

Yes! He’s in the tabernacle. The red sanctuary lamp is lit as a simple reminder that Jesus is present and waiting for you in the Tabernacle.

Some prefer to spend the whole time in contemplative silence, conversing with our Lord. Others may begin with devotional prayers such as the rosary. Spiritual reading about the lives of the saints or books on Christian spirituality can also aid our prayer and meditation. However you choose to pray, the time spent in adoration is never a waste.

Yes! Once you register and pick up your personal access keycard at the parish office you will be able to access the chapel at all times, day or night.

Yes! The chapel will remain open 24/7. We are working to get to 24/7 exposition, but it will take more people committing to fill all the adoration slots. You will always be able to come and pray in the chapel.

No. You cannot share your personal access keycard with anyone - even your spouse or children. For security purposes, everyone who signs up for an hour needs their own personal keycard. Children under the legal age cannot be assigned an hour on their own, but they may adore their family.

Sure. Please ensure you both sign in and out of the kiosk when you visit. For security purposes, your guest will be required to leave when you do.
